Citizens Advice – Universal Credit Claim Help

Universal Credit is a new benefit that combines 6 benefits into 1, including Jobseekers Allowance, Working Tax Credits and Housing Benefit.

The new Help to Claim service offers independent, tailored and practical support to help people make a Universal Credit claim, and receive their first full payment on time.

Ways to access the service
Support is available through our free phone line and web chat from 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday:

Support is also available face-to-face through appointments and drop in at East Renfrewshire Citizens Advice Bureau and at the following times and locations:

Monday: 12.30pm – 2.30pm at Mearns Library
Tuesday: 12pm – 3pm at Barrhead Job Centre Plus
Wednesday: 10am – 12pm at Thornliebank Library
Thursday: 12pm – 3pm at Barrhead Job Centre Plus
Friday: 10am – 1pm at Neilston Library
