Each of Barrhead Housing Association’s properties must have an interlinked fire alarm system installed to meet the new Fire Safety legislation passed by the Scottish Government by February 2022. The new law has come about because of the Grenfell fire in London in 2017, and applies to all Scottish homes.
Interlinked means if one goes off, they all go off, so you will always hear an alarm wherever you are in your home.
As your landlord, Barrhead Housing Association has a legal requirement to ensure that your home is fitted with the new fire safety fire alarm system.
We have appointed the Contractor Gassure to deliver our fire safety installations.
We are now entering the last phase of installations and tenants who have not had systems installed yet will be contacted by Gassure and Barrhead Housing Association Staff to arrange a suitable time and date for access. If you have not provided access, we need your co-operation to protect your safety within your home and to also ensure that we comply with this new law by February 2022.

Thanks for your support and co-operation.
